Types of Membership
Society of Family Offices (SFO) offers family office practitioners and aspiring professionals with three type of memberships, namely the Associate Advisory membership, Charter Advisory membership and Corporate membership.
Individual
SFO Advisory memberships are available to existing family office practitioners as well as those aspiring professionals who are keen to gain in-depth knowledge in family offices advisory and equip themselves with necessary education and skills to effectively advise their family office clients.
- Associate Advisor Membership
Aspiring professionals may first join the exchange as Associate members, while undergoing the prestigious Chartered Family Office Specialist
(CFOS) Certification. Upon acquiring the CFOS credential, you will qualify for the Charter Advisory membership.
- Charter Advisor Membership
Charter Family Office Specialist (CFOS) professionals are eligible to apply for the premier Charter membership. The preferential rate for
advisor is given due to the status of the Charterholder.
Institutional
Institutional Membership is strictly BY INVITATION ONLY. Fund managers, banking institutions, and service providers operating in the family office space may choose to become Gold, Silver or Bronze institutional members. If your company is not invited, please contact us. We may require a due diligence check before accepting your membership.

Corporate

Platinum Circle Membership is strictly BY INVITATION ONLY. Platinum Circle Members are Family Offices, Family Business and Wealth owners who have a clear and deliberate strategy to professionalize the way they manage, preserve and pass on wealth and are keen to become part of the Platinum Membership to take advantage of the benefits of the Membership.
More importantly, the Platinum Circle is specifically designed to provide:
- EXCLUSIVE DEALFLOWS –
This will provide an array of deal flow that will typically be found outside of the traditional wealth advisory process or market place. Investors need to be aware that the Asian marketplace is still very fragmented and some very exciting and excellent deal flows may be missed by most families in the course of their usual dealings with financial institutions. There is simply a lack of a centralized location to find and discover such deal flows.
- CO-INVESTING –
The opportunity to find, structure and to co-invest with other interested parties through club deals will not only prove exciting, but it also serve as possible reinforcement and may result in costs savings due to joint due diligence efforts, and greater mindshare in a certain project or investment. Importantly it may also provide scale with which to better negotiate with the sell side. Appropriate discretion and privacy will be ensured to maintain highest levels of confidentiality for all involved.
- RALLY POINT –
The goal is to make Platinum Circle a rally point from which many family projects; be it investment driven, or with a philanthropic direction, can derive support in its many varied forms from fellow Platinum Circle Members.
- OTHERS –
We feel that many more features can also be formed as the Circle enlarges and SFO remain flexible to accept leadership from members to build on these collaborative and unifying efforts even as Memberships evolve and grow with its own nuances.
